Too bad this isn’t available until 2012. Would have made a stellar Xmas gift for a few people in my life.

Borders out. Snyders out. Bellanote out. Gameworks out. Hooters, well, who knows. This section from Vita.mn’s piece about Kieran’s moving into Block E does a good job of summing up the situation: … My idea? A Downtown Global Market. It hit me a few weeks ago while eating at the Midtown…

I’ve been reading a lot about the Ev N, the latest eco-friendly Honda concept. It dazzles me with it’s jovial grin. Apparently this is one of Honda’s many “green-themed” vehicles debuting at the Tokyo auto show. It has a solar panel roof, a scooter that can be snapped in and out of one of the doors, and a “communications system” between the headlights (the...

The idea of a free nationwide wifi network seems like a pipe dream, but with more and more cities installing wifi networks, the future may not be all that distant. As Peter Fleck, a web consultant, discussed in my New Media Culture lecture, USI Wireless has been contracted to create a Minneapolis city-wide wifi network that will provide residents with affordable Internet service. Part of the...

This is exactly what I’m talking about… Another glimpse at what someone (Microsoft) thinks technological perfection looks like. In my opinion, this is a little creepy. Notice the part of the video with the birds eye view of a woman entering a room. She turns into a dot and it shows her name. I feel the following video is an appropriate accompaniment.

Just relax and press this button.
As a kid, I remember stumbling upon a 1950s TV show on PBS about the future of the kitchen. At the time, I was awestruck by it. I thought plastic clad kitchens and petticoats were the new frontier. Today, I realize that the world will always try to predict the next technological advance and inevitably fail. It is seemingly impossible to predict what the never-arriving future will bring us. I...

Original "Sex Kitten" Dies at 81
Sad. I almost bought tickets to see her with the orchestra earlier this month… “The performer and self-proclaimed “sex kitten” died Thursday of colon cancer, family friend Andrew Freedman tells the Associated Press.” Read more at: http://www.etonline.com/news/2008/12/69194/index.html
